This year's Saga- more stalf completes its work by pub- lishing an annual that will leave no doubt in your mind as to the purpose of our high school yearbook. lYe are introducing Roosevelt High School to you in a way which we hope will please you. Vve are taking Ted- dyw through the English, inusic, sci- ence, athletics, art, and inatheinatics departinents of the school. and the many other organizations that we have. Explaining our school life and activities to Teddy has been a real pleasure to us, and we hope you will benefit from it as inuch as he did. The National Forensic League meets for the purpose of encouraging and promoting all speech activities and contests at Roosevelt. The vari- ous branches of speech are debate, extennporaneous speaking, oratory, and deelamation. To join the organization of the National Forensic League, one must have earned ten points by entering H - - I I'f?llSIlI'6I' - Scryculzf-at-A rms in speech contests. As the points in- crease so do the awards: for thirty points-a degree of honor, for sixty points-a degree of excellence. and for one hundred points-a degree of distinction. The students under the leadership of llflr. Levi Osterhus organized our chapter in 1930. It has grown in num- ber and importance since that time. The nlenlbership of our Roosevelt Forensic Society now is about eight. 4
