One of the college entrance require- ments is two years of some foreign language. Latin is offered to those stu- dents who plan to take up pharmacy, medicine, and other professions as Miss E. The in- dustrial department tries to give to those who enroll, the fundamental principles of these two important oc- cupations. In the sewing division, the students not only make dresses and suits, but they also learn how to knit and crochet. The cooking division teaches the girls to cook a variety of dishes as well as instruct them in the art of preparing inexpensive, but Wholesome meals. It is the hope of the Industrial teachers that the girls after taking this course will be better equipped for their place in life, since that is the ob- jective of this department. i151
