1? fb Every year there are more and more students taking foreign lan- guages, and, correspondingly, the Language Department is increasing in importance in Roosevelt school life. One of the college entrance require- ments is two years of some foreign language. Latin is offered to those stu- dents who plan to take up pharmacy, medicine, and other professions as Miss E. Latin was formerly the only foreign language taught to high school students, but today, sev- eral modern languages are offered. The modern languages taught at Roosevelt are German, French, Nor- wegian, and Swedish. The Language Department, like every department in the school, has a fine group of instructors.
