Cohen. Red Cross aids in Christmas food collection. “Would anyone like to contribute to the Red Cross?” This became a familiar sound as the Red Cross opened the year with a membership drive. By appointing sec- tion representatives the drive reached each student. The total membership drive collection amounted to $114.94. At Christmas time canned goods were collected from the students in an effort to assist the Salvation Army in feeding underprivileged families. As a result the com- munity experienced the satisfaction of giving and receiv- ing in the true Yule spirit. By sponsoring the Brown Derby dance the Red Cross was able to collect funds while providing recreation for RHS students. After a luckless game with Washington, student morale was salvaged with the crowning of Jamie Richards and Leroy Marsh as Brown Derby Queen and King.
