Cohen. Red Cross aids in Christmas food collection. “Would anyone like to contribute to the Red Cross?” This became a familiar sound as the Red Cross opened the year with a membership drive. By appointing sec- tion representatives the drive reached each student. The total membership drive collection amounted to $114.94. At Christmas time canned goods were collected from the students in an effort to assist the Salvation Army in feeding underprivileged families. As a result the com- munity experienced the satisfaction of giving and receiv- ing in the true Yule spirit. By sponsoring the Brown Derby dance the Red Cross was able to collect funds while providing recreation for RHS students. After a luckless game with Washington, student morale was salvaged with the crowning of Jamie Richards and Leroy Marsh as Brown Derby Queen and King. Students beam with Christmas spirit as they load a Christmas basket.
