SENSIBLE SENIORS SENIOR CLASS SPONSORS Miss Clark Miss Carlos Miss Swatts Mr. Bunker Mr. Keller CLASS FLOWER Camellia CLASS COLORS Royal Blue and While MOTTO Our Todays and Yesterdays are tho Blocks with which we Build. OFFICERS President. Ray Pavich Secretary. Rosetta Ashby Business Manager. Eugene Kowal COMMENCEMENT The Senior Class of 1950 march down the aisle together for the last time. Although they look proud and confident on the outside, they feel sad and not so self-assured on the inside. The strains of Pomp and Circumstance fill the auditorium as the graduates find their places and listen to the words of the inspir- ing speaker. Soon, minds begin to drift to that frist year as freshmen. They seem to recall how lost they were in such a strange building; and they will never forget that feeling of bewilderment as they kept looking for the elevator the seniors said they would find. Still drifting in memory, they find them- selves in their sophomore year, losing that bashful glance, and recovering a carefree expression that accompanies the feeling of being an old timer. Minds drift one more year. What a feeling that was to think they were half way through high school years. How they looked forward to the year of 1950, that seemed so far. far away. And now seniors at last!!! As freshmen that day seemed as though it would never come. Now as seniors, they wish it had taken longer. A lump rises in their throats and eyes blink away unwanted tears. Dreams of happy school days now gone, remind them of a ship, sailing smoothly, sometime meeting conflicts and barriers, but sailing for four years and finally reaching a destination—the Port of Graduation. They recall that during this voyage they have found treasures, that they will carry in memory for years to come—Freshman danc- ing class and picnic, class plays, showdown, being an officer of an organization, belong- ing to the National Honor Society, taking part in State Championship football games, all the many basketball games, and all the activities of the Y-Teens. Girl Counselors. Student Government, and Purple White. In the recession, the graduates march from the memorable scene clasping those diplo- mas tightly. They know they must move on because there are others waiting to take their places when they are gone. To those, the seniors say. Full Speed Ahead! Pag® Fourteen
