Sock Hop Rocks It was the night of the 27th, a Saturday in October, the noise was deafening, the girls were swooning as the clocks were turned back to the days of ponytails and bobby-socks, D.A.'s and shades. The first Sock Hop at Roosevelt, sponsored by the Activities Board, brought back the good old days. Music and entertainment were provided by discs hot from the iukebox and talented members of the student body. UPPER RIGHT: Highlighting the Sock-Hop was the performance of RooseveIt's own Axle Rod and the Bearings. The group consisted of Kevin Slinky Fingers Gard- ner, Marko Haskin, Gregg Gunk Loughridge, Alex Axle Rod Ricci, Amir MadDog Fozouni, Mike Wop Visca, Roger Rocko Vance, and Tom Magic Fingers Morrow. CENTER RIGHT: Dede Fulton and Rosemary Malandro reel and rock as Mary Michel looks on. LOWER RIGHT: Mary Michel and Debbie Dennis iitter their bugs off. TOP LEFT: Heidi Procknow quiets the crowd as Gunk begins his solo performance. The 7974 Private Highlights Active Booster Year A- pf .tteA f' Booster Private is one of the oldest traditional dances at Roosevelt High School. The girls work all year long cheering at games, making spirit signs, locker signs and various other activities, including a community service proiect to earn the necessary points needed for Private. Girls with the necessary points may then invite a boy to the dance. This year, 200 points were required for invitation to the Private. The Private was held April 6th at the Silver Springs banquet hall in Stow from 8 to ll. Kevin Gardner was chosen by the members to be this years Booster King. Music was provided by the band, Aries. As Rick Ridinger and Mary Lou Ennis ltop leftl and Sherry Byttner and Randy Hoefler ftop rightl make their entrance, Kim Litwack and Kevin Henry enioy themselves on the dance floor. ACTIVITIES! 21
