Routines arouse enthusiasm Although not participating directly in the games, a group of girls were always found on the field, floor, or ice—wherever the action was. Working with Mr. Geary and the band, the VHS majorettes devised routines, and entertained the sports' enthusiasts at half- time intervals. Clapping and jumping, the cheerleaders, directed by Miss Moroni, drove the “Devil spirit up to an all-time high with their cheers.

Competitive fun If you happened to wander past the boys’ gym some cold winter night, you might have seen the “Star Spangled Bananas”, or, if you were lucky—“Pistol Pete’s Punky Rejects”. Intramural Sports provided boys not participating in winter competitive sports to still have “fun and games” in the winter. Under the direction of Mrs. Koebensky, GRA provided girls with a chance to really let loose”. Organized into four teams—Art, Sparkie’s Goobers. Flying Hooverettes, and Tough Guys, the girls conducted weekly battles of street hockey. 1. INTRAMURALS M.Drobac. R.Spolar. P.Lambert. D. Thomas. L.Okland. J.PIutt. B.Smolensky. T.Bonner. B. Aluni.
