DEDICATION If e are happy to dedicate this edition of the ROMAN to the athletes of Roosevelt High School. Of all the groups that make up the Class of 1953, none has distinguished itself more than the athletes, whom we are proud to select as a symbol of the kind of all-around leadership that every high school group strives for. CASSIOPEIA Cassiopeia, the lady in the chair, is one of our most familiar constellations. The Lady in the Chair could and does well typify our Faculty and their authority. This con- stellation high in the heavens also honors and designates their high office in giving us our education. The faculty has worked hard to give us the education we have. They gave us our start in life by laying the foundation for our knowledge. Everything we have stored away will be useful at some time in later life. So we give a word of gratitude to our faculty, and honor them with the beautiful constella- tion, Cassiopeia. • 7 •
