FOREWORD To those ,who watch students and their interests, school life is, in turn,a colorful pageant,an endless panorama, and a vivid expression of life. The aim of this bool: is to crystallize these impressions. If through the pages you see reflected the spirit of Roosevelt High School during the past year, our purpose has been accomplished. If through the cliclc of a camera or the summary of a project, school life has become a lasting memoir, then the efforts of the editors have been rewarded.

THE ARGUMENT The 1935 Star of the North aims to reflect changes that are occurring in yearbook building. Large areas formerly devoted to editorial articles in school annuals now feature photor- graphs, pictures, rather than words, tell the storyof school life. We feel that such a boolc has definite advantages, advantages in vividness, in interest, and in artistry. The yearbook staff has aimed to present such a tangible record of this school year in its annual publi- cation, the 1935 Star of the North.
