Upstairs School The main purpose of the Upstairs School is to teach the basic skills of reading. social studies. and math to the students who missed out on them earlier. The teachers have fulfilled special requirements in order to teach in this program at Roosevelt. acknowledging each improvement with great pride. The students and teachers have worked from grade school levels to high school levels. The reading program was one of eleven programs out of 200 in Oregon, chosen last year to receive national recognition. Roosevelt's being the only one of these at the high school level.
