ncipal Don W. James The Region III Student Council Association is addressed by Mr. James. Although Mr. James is a member of the Superintendents' Curriculum Advisory Council, Portland Schools Vocational Education Committee, Portland Schools Communications Committee, the Committee for Cooperation between School District No. 1 and Portland State College, and Portland Schools' High School Building Committee, he continues to devote his time to Roosevelt as a well informed and well liked principal. Mr. James accompanies Spring Student Council representatives to the Region III meeting in Tillamook. As principal of Roosevelt and a member of many organizations, Don James is an Educational Leader in our District, Region, and State. As president of the Portland High School Principals' Association, Chairman of the Curriculuc Commission of the Oregon Association of Secondary School Principals, and a member of Oregon Association of Secondary School Principals’ Executive Committee, Mr. James is kept busy with a number of responsibilities. He is Chairman of the Region III Student Council Association and a member of the Oregon Association of Student Councils' Advisory Committee as well.

Miss Leola Craig Miss Craig, administrative vice principal, supervises all girls functions. She is also in charge of Rally, Pep squad, the Junior Class, cap and gown committees, supervising the prom, ticket and student body card sales, and school finances. Vice Principals 14 Mr. Jack McLeod As classroom visitation supervisor, Mr. McLeod spends much of his time touring classes and compiling reports on the teachers. Freshman Class activities, library services, bookroom rentals, A.V.A., class programs, and schedules are also under his supervision. Mr. George Hysmith Administrative vice principal in charge of discipline of the boys at Roosevelt is Mr. Hysmith s main job. Other activities placed under his supervision include athletic contests, guidance and counselling, movies, dances, cafeteria committees, auto and bike registration, assembly patrol, and faculty assignments. He is also in charge of all Sophomore Class activities. Supervising Baccalaureate seating, processional, recession, anti parroting assemblies also fall under his jurisdiction.
