Administration DON W. JAMES A word to Roosevelt students from their principal A mosaic such as we find on the cover of this yearbook is composed of patterns which in turn are made up of smaller individual pieces. So it is with a high school. Roosevelt can be said to be comprised of the nearly 1750 individuals who are associated with the school. The faculty, service staffs, departments, classes, teams, clubs, councils, and committees emerge as patterns. When one of these clusters such as the band student council, or an academic class functions in a very effective manner, luster is added to the entire picture. However, do not lose sight of the fact that each individual is in full view at all times. If each of us will do his best to shine brightly, the mosaic that is 10 Roosevelt will, indeed, be magnificent.

Dedication Mr. Ford With sincere appreciation and admiration the 1961-62 Ranger Annual Staff takes pride in dedicating this yearbook to Robert G. Ford, an active member of the Roosevelt Faculty. Coming to us in 1952 from the old Elliot Elementary School, where he taught seven years, Mr. Ford has conducted classes in English and publications. Acting as advisor to the Annual Staff he aided in turning out six books. Due to his supervision the 1956 Ranger took second place nationally. The yearbooks added to Roosevelt's collection under Mr. Ford's advisory are fine examples of his capabilities in the field of publications, and in this spirit of good journalism, we dedicate the 1962 Ranger. 9
