Weather adds a piece to the student mosaic. This winter, student life was pleasantly and unexpectedly changed by the arrival of snow which blanketed the campus and pelted classroom windows. Inside, excited students watched the flakes fall and planned for fun in a new and unusual winter wonderland.

FOREWORD The lives of students at Roosevelt resemble a mosaic. Like a mosaic, a picture consisting of many small parts, a student's life in a year is made up of many small events. Each event is an essential part of the pattern of a meaningful school year. Knowledge is the most important part in the student's mosaic. It tempts the inquiring mind and satisfies it. Thus, with knowledge he begins to create the type of person he will be in the future. Athletics is the back-bone of school spirit. Without this vital part the student mosaic is not complete. Sports promote loyalty, spirit and sportsmanship. This healthy entertainment benefits both the participant and spectator. To be a real part of a school one must take part in its activities. Our mosaic of student life needs activities to be complete. Each student who takes part in some activity adds to this mosaic. When each part of the mosaic is formed and inlaid the result is one memorable year. Here is the picture as your 1962 Annual Staff saw it . ..
