n mcognifion 795' '- .f . a ,-., ' it 'W 'ZZ '? 1 , f,f. j :uQw ,, ' ' 1!9 Mr. Wfilham Miclca Thank you is one of the most used words in the linglish language. Sometimes it is said with feeling and sometimes it is said without much thought. ln even more cases it doesn't begin to say enough for all the work that has been done by individuals. Such is the case with Mr. Mitka, Mr. Ash- ley, Mrs. Naman, Mr. Palfrey, and Mr. Wfarner. Mr. Micka, besides being in charge of attendance for the school, is the Excalibur Club sponsor, art teacher, and a past advisor for the Nautilus. A Roosevelt graduate of 1942 who works diligently at the campus beautification pro- gram and goes by unnoticed is Mr. Ashley. Through the four seasons of the year he can be seen working with his numerous student assistants in the many gardens surrounding the school. Besides teaching biology, Mrs. Naman finds time to be a helpful, understanding sophomore girls' counselor. During the past summer she has been one of the six teachers chosen to attend a summer session on atomic theory at the University of Southern California. First as a baseball coach and then as a biology teacher, Mr. Palfrey deserves more than just thanks. For twenty-three years he has been a member of the Roosevelt faculty. Forever advancing is Mr. WZIFHCY. In 1946 he started at Roosevelt teaching shop classes and coaching light weight football. From this place he advanced to Dean of Boys and from that position to the Vice- Principal. Now he is leaving Roosevelt and becoming Washington junior High Schoo1's next principal. . f. w.1i'fE21'il Mr. Ciliarles Ashley - sq , my h . . 1-,nu NH' hh . .,.. by rg, 'lk I 1 'a f.
