This is the time to reminisce, and We proudly recall what we have achieved during each slowly pass- ing year. Our tour able sponsors, Mr. Richard Helm, Miss Lydia Almquist, Mr. Neil Mackay and Miss Ethel Rudolph, assisted our class through our seemingly insignificant sophomore year to the thrilling climax of graduation, Under these etticient sponsors, many successful school dances were sponsored by the class, and the junior play, june Mad, will long be remem- bered as a huge success, as Will the senior play, The Ghost Train. Both plays hit a new peak in high school entertainment, and were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. lt was in our junior year that the class of '4l chose its teal-blue sweaters. lt Was in this year, also, that the class chose its ring. The baccalaureate services tor the january class were held in the First Methodist Church. The commencement exercises for this class were held in the Fresno Memorial Auditorium. ba Bar ra Pugh K john Filgas Frank Wwe Raul Aguirre 0,9 I ,. ig ' i FEBRUARY GRADUATES 'JR' HARRY RICHARD BETTS DIANA BILLINGS ROY BRASE EDITH MARY CHIPMAN TOM CHRISTENSEN SHIRLEY ADELE DEETER EVELYN LORRAINE FEENY ROBERT LOUIS FIELDS STANLEY WELSHANS GRIGGS ROBERT C. HONORS Since then the News has done everything possible to build up Roosevelt by printing clean, unprejudiced school news, Several years ago the News made a place for itself by taking first honor ratings in both the Quill and Scroll and Columbia national and international scholastic contests. . . . ACTIVITIES One of the leading activities of the school, the News has given students an opportun- ity to learn how a paper is managed and how news stories are written. Not only do stu- dents have a chance to put out the paper, but they also come in direct Contact with others who are connected with the field of journalism. . . . COOPERATION The News has always cooperated with the student body and has always put forth the best that Roosevelt had to offer. It has always been a strong booster for school spirit and has backed everything beneficial to the school. . . . SPONSORS The Roosevelt News sponsorship has changed hands many times since it was first started. The first sponsor was Miss Ellen T. Hicks, in 1928. The other sponsors were Miss Eleanor Evinger, Mr. Stephen Walker, Mrs. Elizabeth Bruce Kircher, and the present sponsor, Miss Sarah E. Strother.
