The night when the smell of flowers, the glow of familiar faces, the laughter of happy couples give a magical touch to the occasion! Dreams and plans of the four years are interwoven to make this night of nights. There is no room for sorrow on this night of dreamsg joy prevails, for the memory of prom night, our prom night, will remain with us long after we enter the larger circle of experience awaiting US. The R symbolizes hard work, individual achievement, service to the school, teamwork. To one xvho lzas earned his R there is no more thrilling occasion than the day he knows an is his. To one who wears the R it means he has done more than just go to schoolg he has helped to make our school go. just a letter of the alphabet to some but to winners of the RM in service, activity, or athf letics, it means they could and they did for Roosevelt, 6

Our preconception of high school education was that of all work and no play. But it vvasn't so! As we progressed from freshman to seniors and Roosevelt became our very life, we began to realize the true meaning of an education such as high school provides. We discovered that education is not preparation for life, it is life. The recognition of this truth has played its part in making us what we arc. V Today, as graduates, we look back with satisfaction to the changes we have un' dergone while we have been within the Circle of Roosevelt. Now we are older in exf perience, more mature physically and mentally, more sophisticated in our social conf tacts. Our conception of high school education is that of a relative balance of vvork and play. We more fully realize the significance of the truth that education, from registration to graduation, is life.
