To Those Who Face the Future We stand upon the threshold of the dawn, And read we yet with unbelieving eyes The prophecies of things that are to come- And long for ladders reaching to the skies. And as we keep our vigils each alone, The first faint flush of light at last We seeg And though We know immutable is Fate, With feeble hands we plan our Destiny. And some are cursed with pagan lust for gold, And some with lust for mortal victory- Morasses these, that trap the wayward soil And drag it down through Time's forgotten And some there are that seek a death in life And bury faith and hope in single graveg And others build cathedrals of the mind- Their quiet strength the pillars of the nave. And yet the paths that Time prepares for each Lead oft afar from the expected way- And we who scan with anxious eyes the dawn, SCR.
