Ouf of fhaf class, l24 sfudenfs remained af graduafion fime. Besides having had many prominenf members, if was also recognized as fhe lasf class of scrubs fo promenade fhe fwo decks of fhe old Roosevelf, and fhe second class fo graduafe from fhe new building. Affer refurning from vacafion as high sophomores fhey were welcomed fo fhe Roosevel+ Village. Whaf a difference! lnsfead of a fwo-sfory building and long halls fo walk 'round and 'round, fhe sophs found fhemselves wandering in and ouf of coffages scaH'ered over fhe area of a block. The junior year fairly floafed by, nof only because of many school acfivifies, buf because of fhe rain fhaf flooded fhe alleys befween fhe coffages. Whaf senior doesn'f remember iumping puddles and dodging umbrellas on fhe way 'ro class? Time passed on swiff wings! Those 225 scrubs, now boiled down fo approxi- mafely one-half, who nof so long ago enfered Roosevelf, found fhemselves in fhe mosf imporfanf parf of high school life-fhe senior year. Everyfhing seemed fo come af once. During fhis fime many of fhe old fradifions of Roosevelf were revived. For insfance, fhe Lariaf, fhe ferm play, fhe annual Roosevelf Chrisfmas Pageanf, and many clubs fhaf ,could nof be carried on ouf in fhe village. Buf, fhe mosf imporfanf affair concerning fhe high seniors was fhe Senior Ball. The gym was fransformed info a colorful ballroom for fhe evenf, buf, despife fhe gay fime fhere was also a feeling of sadness in fhe air because if was fhe lasf lime fhe high senior class would meef fogefher. Finally fhe lasf day came, and fhe high seniors presenfed fheir usual Senior Assembly for fhe sfudenfs of Roosevelf. Then fhaf nighf fhey donned gowns, marched fo fheir places, and received fheir diplomas. Tears and smiles infer- mingled as fhey filed slowly ouf. Once more Roosevelf opened ifs doors, buf fhis fime fo allow l24 poised, grown-up sfudenfs fo leave ifs fold and fry fheir luck in fhe world.
