HARUO ODA First Vice-Principal ADMINISTRATION Completion of a new and larger library in August and renovation of the cafeteria's dishwashing facilities accommodated the needs of the student body and faculty. To provide a more comprehensive curriculum, the English and Social Studies departments introduced Humanities, Literature of the Pacific, Inde- pendent Study, and Anthropology. Counselors arranged conferences for seniors interested in Pacific Coast, Midwestern, and Eastern colleges. Principal William Wong attended the National Association of Secondary School Principals conference in Atlantic City and visited Los Angeles schools to compare main- land and local educational systems. During February, teachers from other schools viewed experimental closed-circuit educational tele- vision broadcasts at Roosevelt. In April, the Revisitation Committee of the Western College Board re-evaluated the curriculum in considering extension of the accreditation granted Roosevelt for the last four years. RICHARD H. Sophomores delved into world literature while Juniors and Seniors studied American and English literature. The humanities program, combining art, music, and literature, was initiated to broaden the scope of past and present cultures.
