'79 'QW DONALD WONG Editor-in-Chief EDEAN YAP Art Editor NANCY KIYAMA Business Manager LUCILLE CHING Assistant Editor ROUND UP Under the careful supervision of Donald l'Vong', editor-in-chief, and Mrs. Evelyn Lee, adviser, the determined Round Up staff pro- duced the 1962 edition of Roosevelt's cherished yearbook, a consistent first-place award winner. Meetings were conducted during the sum- mer to select a theme and a color scheme that would attract and please all. Puzzled juniors, as well as experienced seniors, became familiar with the fundamentals of annual production through weeks of lectures. Thereafter, the junior understudies observed as their senior editors presented detailed information cover- ing the procedures of their individual sections. The staff soon realized that an outstanding yearbook requires months of concentrated, per- petual labor. Layouts were carefully drawn in order to create the most appealing spreads. Various pictures were scheduled, taken, iden- tified, cropped and pasted. Identifications, captions, and body copy were written and typed. Through the close relationship afforded by the pressing work, understanding and a warm friendship developed among the staff. The climax of the year was Round Up's annual banquet held in May, when the com- pleted yearbook was viewed for the first time and merit awards and certificates were dis- tributed to staff members and photographers.
