MR. CHARLES B. BARRETT Principal The role of teachers is to guide and train students for their places as the leaders of tomorrow. They help to instill pride and interest in the school and try to act as friends as well as teachers. Coun- seling bewildered students is not an easy task, but they do it with patience and understanding. Giving freely of their own time, they chaperone school functions and advise various school or- ganizations. Every week they attend meetings at which they listen to lectures and loin in dis- cussions in order to learn more about students and how better to teach them. Besides their school work, teachers take part in extracurricular activities which are many and varied. Some spend their free time bowling, golfing, playing tennis, or engaging in other sports in which they have proved proficient. Others add to the enioyment of the community as members of such outstanding civic organiza- tions as the Honolulu Community Theater and the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. In appreciation for what they have done for the students, we set aside this part of the annual in recognition of the administration. Faculty . . .
