' Zcwketfafi William Youngs lunior varsity placed sixth in the league, but like a bunch ot busy bees, the boys wreaked havoc on the other schools and lost to several ot the top teams by ex- tremely close margins, A thriller all the way was the heated contest with McKinley which Roosevel' lost by two points. About an equal number ot iuniors and sophomores shared positions on the iayvee quintet. Rising above the average were George Naukana, William Young, and Paul Labor. Given a tremendous boost in morale with the appointment of new coach William Tam, an aggregation with an entirely difter- ent look broke into spring training. St. Louis, and surprised everyone with their commendable calibre of play. Pacing them was their ace hurler, Lawrence Lovewell. Other experienced seniors, Douglas Baiadali, Almo Cambra, Richard Hanson, and iuniors David Nakasone, Fred Lee, and Roy Kuratani stood firmly behind him and provided the extra punch and sparkle. lt's a hit!
