Why can't we stay behind the auditorium during lunch hour? . . . But my foot was already in the doorway when the tardy bell rang! To some of us, our counselors represented discipline, and the sight of the monitor bearing the familiar pink pass which summoned us out of class meant detention assignment. To others, they were patient and sagacious advisors. To most of us, however, they were a combination of both. We shall remember, with amusement, how the mere sight of them sent lingering stu- dents scurrying out of the cafeteria. Most of all, however, we shall remember them with warm affection and gratitude as our friends. He that loves reading has everything within his reach. -William Godwin ENGLISH. 70 M6 -' The members of the class of i954 were entering Roosevelt High School as sophomores at the time I became principal. For this reason I have a special interest in this class. The past three years have been filled with activities of educational value as well as those of a recreational nature. As participants you have, I am sure, profited greatly. You have, no doubt, also developed many lifelong friendships which will mean more and more as the years go by. We will remember the graduates of 1954 for their enthusiasm in our program and their cooperation at all times.
