Aw tx wtf r The Class of 1942 President Albert Howard and Adviser Horterxse Schwullie have good reason to be proud of the successful junior class. 1 w f W i l , , 2 The three other efficient executives ure Samuel Sclsai, treas- urer. Mineo Ohtani, secretary. and Robert Ho, vice-president. l The junior class history of this year should really go down in the records. Under the leadership of Albert Howard, many successful events took place, The lunior Mistletoe Ball, held at the Waialae Golf Club on the evening of December 23, was a success financially and otherwise, thanks to the committee who worked under Miss Virginia McBride. Officers Albert Howard, presidentg Robert Ho, vice-president, Mineo Ohtani, secretaryg and Samuel Sasai, treasurer, faithfully performed their duties. Miss I-lortense Schwallie did an excellent job as adviser, helping the class in every way, The class of '42 contains outstanding people in all fields of work. ln sports, many of the boys ex- celled in football and basketball. Among these were Bob Fernandes, Eric Green, Paul Fernandez, Charles Clark, Charles Warrington, Harold Mason, and Richard Hines. The Concert Mistress of the orchestra was, for the first time in Roosevelt history, a junior, Barbara Brier. Other officers and several members of the orchestra were also juniors. Outstanding among the juniors on the Rough Rider staff were Sylvia Browne, second semester managing editor, Harry Kurisaki, second semester sports editor, and who can forget the work of cartoonist Octavio lordan, art editor. lunior assistants on the Round-Up staff were: Albert Howard, Marjorie Musser, Barbara Brier, Gaye Martin, Ruth Robinson, Sam Sasai, lune Hitchcock, lanet Lee, Eugene Rabe, and others. To this group will go the task of putting out the '42 yearbook.
