Dave Kilby Gretchen Falk Reba O'Bryant Class History As a class of 69 eager freshmen, we began our high school days in 1951, We were thrilled to be included in the social whirl of fun nites and dime dances, At the Spring Party we were overjoyed to make our debut into the upper-upper strata of school society, My, but we felt important participating in the clubs and sports, and campaigning for Student Council offices, In the fall of '52 we were put through our paces at the Sophomore Reception, It was then we knew that we were officially part of the high school. We, in turn, sponsored our first big formal, the Winter Wonderland, Came spring and we walked on air when Don Ableson was elected vice-president of the Student Coun- cil, We took out time, after a year of work and worry, to breathe by a breath-taking ride on the roller coaster at Walled Lake, We began our junior year by initiating the class of '56, We sported our new class rings with pride, Wilma Stiltner was the Homecoming Queen, Play production rolled around, and the class of '55 found itself busy with casting and rehearsing, We achieved the ultimate in success when all three of our can- didates were elected to the Student Council: Don Ableson, president; Jim Parker, vice president; Muriel Studt, secretary, In June we hosted the senior class at Charles McKenny Hall, For the year-end picnic we went to Edgewater Park, Then at last came the Honors Assembly, and we moved up the Senior Seats, We made it! We were seniors! We busied ourselves protecting our right to the Senior Stairs, Doris Golding rated as Homecoming Queen, We had senior pictures taken, We chose our fads « light green V-neck sweaters and planned for our trip to fabulous New York, Our dramatic abilities were brought forth at the annual play festival, In May we journeyed to Man- hattan and had a marvelous time, Then, with a tear in our eyes we surrendered our seats at the Honors Assembly, and watched as the class of '56 took over, At Commencement, on June 10, we marched up to the stage to receive our diplomas, and now we are RHS alumni,
