We, in turn, sponsored our first big formal, the Winter Wonderland, Came spring and we walked on air when Don Ableson was elected vice-president of the Student Coun- cil, We took out time, after a year of work and worry, to breathe by a breath-taking ride on the roller coaster at Walled Lake, We began our junior year by initiating the class of '56, We sported our new class rings with pride, Wilma Stiltner was the Homecoming Queen, Play production rolled around, and the class of '55 found itself busy with casting and rehearsing, We achieved the ultimate in success when all three of our can- didates were elected to the Student Council: Don Ableson, president; Jim Parker, vice president; Muriel Studt, secretary, In June we hosted the senior class at Charles McKenny Hall, For the year-end picnic we went to Edgewater Park, Then at last came the Honors Assembly, and we moved up the Senior Seats, We made it! We were seniors! We busied ourselves protecting our right to the Senior Stairs, Doris Golding rated as Homecoming Queen, We had senior pictures taken, We chose our fads « light green V-neck sweaters and planned for our trip to fabulous New York, Our dramatic abilities were brought forth at the annual play festival, In May we journeyed to Man- hattan and had a marvelous time, Then, with a tear in our eyes we surrendered our seats at the Honors Assembly, and watched as the class of '56 took over, At Commencement, on June 10, we marched up to the stage to receive our diplomas, and now we are RHS alumni, DONALD ABLESON (Don) A Man Chases a Girl Annual 4 Baseball 1, 3,4 Basketball 3, 4 Boys' State 3 Football 4 Homeworkshop Club 1 J. Senior Class Activities Senior Classmen Receive Proofs Senior proofs have been on display in corridor and class- room ever since Oct. 13, when McClure’s Studio delivered the goods. “Which shall I choose? Do you like this one?” have been ricocheted from floor to ceil- ing. “You look too fat, you look too thin, you look to square, you look too cube.” These re- marks have been bandied about, but come June, 74 handsome senior pictures will be hanging in the corridors Seniors to Saunter Out In Mint Green Sweaters It’s been quite a struggle, but the seniors have finally decided on a fad. The choice is mint green orlon V-neck sweaters. Jerie Capizzi volun- teered to'take sizes and orders, and is always equipped with his tape measure. The sweaters will probably be seen around RHS about the first part of February. The sweaters are being purchased at the Sport Shop. Senior Spot Show Girls Making Money “Give me a hot dog.” “How much is coffee?” “Where are the potato chips?” For an hour and a half each Friday night, five hard-working brave girls were besieged by these queries. Selling refreshments at Roosevelt's home _ football games this fall were Liz Fisher, Kay Tapscott, Nancy Kayuska, Donna Goings and Shirley Scott. Of course, there were a few men backing them up. The profit received goes in- to the senior class trip fund. Liz said, “It was a wonderful experience because everyone worked so hard.” ’°55 Grads Tackle Jol To Speed Exit-Takin Seniors have advanced o more step up the ladder } ward graduation.
