Class History Ae an ambitious class of 60, we attained the position of frosh in 1948. We were well represented in athletics and fun nites. Ous real debut was held at the Spring Party given by the seniors. We acquired our sponsors: Miss Pearle Baxter, Miss Thelma McAndless, and Mre Louis Golczynski. We were initiated by the class of '51 at the Sophomore Recaption, and we sponsored the formal Christmas party, The Silver Swirl. Class officers were Gus Karis, Beverly Lounsberry, Laurie Barenow, and Pegazv Baker. We closed our second year with a picnic at Walled Lake, In our Junior year we initiated the class of '53 at the Sophomore Reception. Gus Karis, Joe Kelly, Laurie Barenow and John Allen were our class officers. Joe Kelly was elected to vice-presidency of the Student Council. Mary Shaw garnered the secretary-tresurer's position the previous year. Laurie Bare- now was elected to be the Homecoming Queen. We sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom. And yes, our picnic to Walled Lake closed the caleniar on our junior year. At last! “e were seniors! The staira were ours, and we kept ourselves dusy every minute. Class officers were Phil “iard, Frank Paduan, Laurie Barenow and Alice Waterbury. Alice Waterbury was our Homecoming Quesn. Ye joined Roosevelt's Alumni group, and we attended the Prom all on the sume night, Vay 16. e made our Senior trip to New York, and the next week was our Baccalaureate. We finally marched down the aisle of Roosevelt's Audi- torium for the last tims on Friday the 13th of June as we craduated fron Roosevelt Hizh School z
