We realize that the things which our hands and feet have grown so accus- tomed to doing at Roosevelt have not yet received their true value. We hope that as the years pass this book will become dearer to each student as he recalls the HIGHLIGHTS of 1960 at ROOSE- VELT HIGH SCHOOL. I, 4 p CAM .xdcfiuifiefi .gfaorfa CONT ENTS WMF, Qilfztzeg .x4aluerfi5emenf4 DEDICATIO THERON L WHITE To Theron L. White, a man who has been not only a conscientious teacher but also a devoted friend to everyone, we, the Sen- iors of 1960, wish to dedicate this Year- book. It is hard to find a man who holds the respect of both faculty and students and is loved by both groups as is Mr. White. Through our years here at Roosevelt he has taught us the essentials of mathematics and lived an example of the qualities of good citizenship. The most potent of all indirect in- fluences in the development of our citi- zenry is the influence of a good teacher. ARMAND J. GERSON DR. IRA JARRELL DR. RUAL W. STEPHENS 'Pm Superintendent of Schools Deputy Superintendent ADMINISTRATIO DR. Love E. BAUGHAM MR. ED S. Cook, SR. Superintendent Honorary President and Area Five District Board Member MR. NEIL BAXTER Principal of Roosevelt High School Mr. Neil Baxter, Roosvvelfs new principal, came to us this year after having served as counselor at Grady High, English teacher at O'Keefe and Boys High. He is from Kentucky originally and graduated from Western Kentucky State College. Later, he did graduate work and received his M.A. degree from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. Already, he has earned for himself a place in our hearts because of his warm friendliness and sincere helpfulness to both students and faculty. af fe J . .4 .A RUTH S.
