JANUARY, 1952 first week ol school we spent cramming and preparing for semester exams. exams over. we settled down to the important business of changing classes. turning tal books and going to basketball games. The new sewage disposal plant makes one more place to visit . . . so say our scientists, The The in ren The yelling block is in top form-they cooperate. they are interested and take defeat on the chin. YX'e were beaten by Logansport in the team tourney. . . The team traveled to distant Muncie Burris the following Friday. TVe seniors are beginning to decide which college to attend or which business to go into. Folklore Club started the tremendous task of writing the history of Roosevelt High School. l'hotographic work for the Flashback is over. Sue won't look familiar without her camera. The Student Council placed a Coke machine in the lunchroom: wedding lJClls are breaking up that old gang of mine-first Bonnie Starrett. next Nancy Ridenour and now l'at liouclreau. The glee club chose their song for our graduationk The Halls of Ivy -but we will be well prepared lor it. we have all but worn out the recording ol it at the HlYllL'l'l.U FILBRLYXRY. 1952 It's almost as il' we are running downhill toward Nlay 23-gaining momentum as we roll along. The l',T..X. opened a teen-age canteen at the l.illcollt gvm alter the Lebanon game. and starting in March. every Saturday night .,.. Basketball bounded to a close as the sectionals neared . . . YYIQ GOT'l',X' XYIN-l.lf'l S GO! Xve lost to Xlonon bv one point, good try team and coaches. MARCH. ISIB2 Spring is in the air, out ol storage come the sandals. and cotton skirts- into the mothballs go the sweaters and winter coats. The students are beginning to sit out on the steps again. soaking up the warm sunshine. Chicago is being' favored this month bv the .Kg bovs. Home lic., and the Speech class. The speech contests and regional li. li. plavolls got under way on Saint I'atrick's Dav: basketball semi-finals and track practice all bc-ginning and ending in two short weeks. Our invitations were chosen on the first ballot-makes one have that linal leeling. l ,H..X. girls sponsored a dance in honor ol' all the basketball boys. The juniors are determined to be wealthy bv the tall of '32Abuy a pencil. The I.atin and math brains had their regional contest. Golf and tennis breeled in with the spring weather . . . Seniors . . . just two more months left. APRIL, N52 .Xll-Fools clay began the week ol' the 5th six weeks exams. ll Mother Only Knew such a laugh. best we had seen in years. The juniors did well on their ticket sale. too. The senior girls showed their varied talents in the skits for G. .X. .L liaster. new hnery and a splendid Easter program marched us to the spring break ranks from .Xpril ll-l-l. RMU track and oratorital contests. pltls the Nlusic lfestival tband and glee clubj brought this month to a close. MAX. 19112 Xvhv avoid it. I'm sleepy. the junior-Senior prom was simply scrumptuous-utterly dreamy-that Lyle Mitchell and his band- Xvake up. wake up! Senior exams begin the l5th. Q TVhy. oh why. did I take bookkeep- ing? cry all the young bookkeepersj Then came achievement day-NI awards. letters. the traditional class key ceremonies. and the senior farewell address. THE LAST YVEEIQ. The last week began with a clean-up of the home-room. then practice, practice and more practice-I walk those steps in my sleep! Baccalaureate was on the 18th at the Christian Church. TVe knew how to march and when to sit and rise and when to remove our caps . . . XVhen we were sophomores and juniors we grew sad and shed a few tears as our older senior friends marched in to Pomp and Circuntstanceu and out to The Vikingu- now we are those seniors . . . It was a long walk across the stage, but we all made it-we crossed the tassels over at the same time-we wobbled back out-folded the robes-saved the tassels and then it was all over. Pa gc Fifty-three
