W4 2375 W Monticello High School Monticello, Indiana Roosevelt High School is located on highway 24, just west of the city limits of Monticello. It is situated on twenty acres of improved ground. This beautiful structure was built in 1938. The class of 1950 is the 12th class to graduate from this high school. The students moved into the new structure during the latter part of February, 1939, and were the first graduating class. Since the building was completed, a football field and track have been added and lighted for night games. Also the land has been beautifully landscaped. It has been the policy of graduating classes to leave some sort of gift for the betterment of the school. Among these have been electric clocks, shrubbery, stage curtains, electric water coolers, stage furniture, inter-communication sys- tem, and at present an art project is underway. These pictures are in the upper hall and one in the lunch room. M O N T I C E L L O The 1950 Flashback I N D I A N S 9, t Pow-Wow Seated: F. H. Gillespie. Robert Ross, Mary Lois Hart. Claire Decker. Keith Flora When the Senior Class oi 1950 voted to have a year book, the first project was to raise the necessary funds. In purchasing the Flashback you have paid about one-half of the actual cost. The remainder had to come from somewhere else, but where? Receipts from the Senior Class Play and the balance in our treasury made up a large block of the needed funds. This was supplemented by very generous donations from various community organizations and businessmen, and dona- tions from the many high school clubs and classes. As an additional money- making project, the Seniors sold magazine subscriptions for the well known magazines. The Guidance Library became the office, mounting department, and publish- ing room for the Flashback. Staff members spent many weeks working out problems of editing, managing, and constructing this year book. We are sure that the enjoyment you derive from this Flashback will more than outweigh the effort of producing it.
