Administrators Direct A ctivities At RHS tion and will be a great help in the future . sir C' RAY SMITH, Counselor, maintained school records of all junior high and high school students. Mr. Smith assisted the principal in scheduling the students classes and tested the elementary students periodically with achievement tests. Ray Smith is retiring now after six years at Roosevelt and a total of twenty nine years in the educational field. We wish Mr. Smith much happiness in the future, for he has brought much happiness to Roosevelt. ALLEN HARMAN was Junior High Principal this year and was the coordinator of all seventh grade and eighth grade activities. Mr. Harman assisted the High School Principal in registration and scheduling of students and also taught classes half a day. Allen Harman is certainly one of the warmest, friendliest men in the entire school. We are sure that he will be very successful next year as the coun- selor. Good Luck Coach Harman ! wishes . ARCHIE CLANTON began his new job as Administrative Assistant this year He has proposed many new motivational and attitude building courses to help stu dents learn to care more about not only school, but also themselves and their futures. We feel that Mr. Clanton is a much needed addition to the adminrstra A. E. SMITH has been High School Principal for sixteen years Many students prayers have finally come true , though, as this is his last year For the first time this is not just a rumor. The high school is losing someone who seems to have always been here, always supporting the school, and always caring when a stu dent has given him half a chance to do so. His duties were various and many as the coordinator of all the secondary programs and activities registration and schedules. Elmo has done a fine job, and we wish hrm luck in Elementary A. W. AKINS, Elementary Principal, is retiring after thirty six years of educa tion, of which twenty four were spent at Roosevelt He was the coordinator of the Elementary program and of the registration, and scheduling of the pupils in Ele rnentary. Mr. Akins is another great man who has grven h1s all for the good of Roosevelt. He is a kind and generous man who deserves all our prayers and best

The board approves finance matters, gen- eral business concerning the welfare of the school, its employees, and students, and this year ruled in favor of the seniors and their move to Lubbock for graduation. The Women Behind The Scenes BDNNIE CRAIG was the High School Clerk this year. Mrs. Craig assisted the principal in registration of students and served as the receptionist for the High School Building. She also checked and kept account of absentees. Mrs. Craig is a very warm and friendly person, and this is very important in the position which whe held . CHERRY HIGHTOWER worked at Roosevelt through Federal programs coordinated by SPAG. She operated the switchboard and punched lunch tickets the last month of school. Cherry was a bright spot in Roosevelt near the end of the year. hard worker and a great supporter of our school. BARBARA WALLING, the School Receptionist, answered the phone and also typed and duplicated all materials needed by the central office. If anyone entered the central office they could be sure to find Mrs. Walling there with an ever friendly smile. MARY MILLER was the Lunchroom Clerk. She reviewed lunch applications col lected lunch fees, and coordinated the entire lunch program Mrs Miller IS a F, ,Q gy ll JANIE WESTBROOK assisted the superintendent in preparing the budget as the Business Manager. She also prepared the financial reports, payrolls, and monthly reports for the school board meetings. Janie is someone who is always there right when she is needed. She is dependable and friendly, as any good bookkeeper should be .
