P C ? r 5 ,.. 76 G7 Presented by the ANNUAL STAFF OF ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL LUBBOCK COUNTY 1962 To one who has worked with the Latin Americans so efficiently for ten years. To one who has untiring patience. To a wonderful person - we dedicate this annual, The Eagle, to you, Mrs. Bowles. 1 1 L 'F -1 A 1 l I 1 I 4 Y-Q ADMINISTRATIQN mm, . CSC500f Csuperfhfezz ofznf MR . MARVIN WILLIAMS Students, You who are entering high school for the first time should realize the importance of broadening your educational experiences. Your success in life, both financially and socially, will probably be in proportion to the extent in which you make use of your educational opportunities. If you fail to make use of these opportunities during high school, you will be handicapped through- out life. You who are finishing, or about to finish high school will soon discover just what use you have made of your time and opportunities in high school. You cannot undo the past but you can make the most of your learning experi- ences. What you have learned is not so important as how you use your learn- ing experiences to solve the problems which confront you. It has been a pleasure to work with young men and young ladies as we have in this school. You have helped make Roosevelt High School what it is. My best regards to all of you. f ' I I' cscfoofjjrzkz czyva MR. ELMO SMITH Perhaps we in school, too often, leave the impression with students that the facts to be learned in the lessons of today are all-important. After these facts have eluded our memory there remains the attitudes and understandings gained from a good general education. It is my sincere desire that your experiences this year will contribute to- ward the attitudes and understandings you will need most in the years ahead. Tommy has put his great math ability to work as the head and chief customer of the T. N. Weaver Tobacco Company. Sylvia is now in the process of trying to pass her thirty-first course under the great L. C. C. professor, ROLAND-BABE. She's majoring in train engineering. Dwight is trying to develop a way of spearing frogs while on one ski and behind his fastest donkey. Lometa is residing in New York and working as a high fashion model. As we look into the future, we see James as a permanent resident of Sing Sing because of his illegal operation of a slot machine business. Delonia is in competition with KDUB after she won all of KSEL'S records. Jim was forced to liquidate his cattle company by the city of Lubbock. He is now a perfume salesman. Gatha is trying to pass Biology under a woman teacher. While Bill Sides isn't busy with his coast-to-coast grocery store chain, he operates an instant car-lowering service. Linda is secretary to the head of Roosevelt's Business Department. Kenneth operates a chain of segregated service stations all the way from Acuff to Idalou. With each ten gallons of gas, he gives away a free hamburger. Terica has been a big success in the advertising department of Metrecal, Inc. Garland's hit album has reached the one million mark. He calls it, Crying Over Patsy. Ronny sold his washing-machine-motors-for-cars business and is now one of the chief stockholders in T.W.A. Airlines. In his spare time he has a television series called Sky Meek. r CCon't.J Zanna is foreman in a boiler factory. She is well known for her ability to be heard above any type of noise. Neil - poor Neil. We see Neil in the hospital recovering from a very serious case of dish -pan hands. Brenda, well -known for her dancing ability, is perfecting a new type of dance. She calls it the hula-twist. We also have a future famous politician in our midst. Bill Harty is now in his third month of a Senate filibuster. Joan has retired. She started her career as a school nurse, but her red hair proved too great a temptation to the lice which were a part of her inspection duties. John is one of our more prosperous businessmen. He is head manager of Ial, New Mexico, Janitor Department. Mrs. Parramore, we shall skip. One doesn't have much of a future at her age. Mr. Sinclair Qlast but not leastj is in the poor house. He threw his billfold down just once too often. And Larry, he's still trying to find a way down from the Empire State building, after climbing it the hard way, from the outside.
