Forensics involves students like Steve Howard and Lee (Iramberg in current affairs and debater. Forensics was a new course offered to seniors. Students studied independently in the library on certain topics, and then discussed their findings in class. Journalism courses were available this year for three semesters. First and second semester students learned the funda- mentals of a good newspaper in theory and practice by putting out the Roundup. Students enrolled in third semester jour- nalism studied magazines and planned a magazine of their own. The Advanced Standing Program con- tinued for the third year. For those who especially were intrigued by Economics I, Roosevelt also offered a course in advanced economics, where the student delved deeper into these studies in a seminar course. By studying the various social sciences, the THRS student was better able to broaden his concept of the world of today. Amuminic anecciote , supplementary reaciinf and lively lectures all make Mrs. Jafciello s world history rla8se»« a challenge for sophomores.
