Schools all over are stressing the growing importance of a foreign lan- guage; Roosevelt is no exception. With the aid of prepared texts and extensive lab sessions, the challenge of learning a language has become not only prac- tical, but also entertaining. Grammar, conversation, translation, and the his- tory and culture of different countries are among the several areas studied. Yeah, hut look where it got C u sar!

Mathematics is the Basis of All Sciences Have you ever delved into the realms of X and Y or squares, circles, and triangles? For the math student these are everyday experiences. With New Math as the teaching basis, rules are appearing more often to give a student the an- swer to math ' s numerous questions. After all the years of basic mathematics, general math is presented in algebra courses through symbols rather than the use of numbers. Geometry deals with logic and the relationship of space and its dimensions. In the higher math of trigonometry, college algebra, analytical geometry, probability, and statistics, students find new areas of interpre- tation opened to them.
