Administration Formulates Roosevelt Policy and Leading Roosevelt with a strong sense of direction, Dr. Charles Rowley has brought innovation and change. Implementing plans for improved educa- tional opportunities, Dr. Rowley, in cooperation with others, provided for a new typing room and additional science instructors. Public and inter-school affairs, as well as those of Roosevelt, are supervised by Dr. Rowley in his role as chief administrator. With a multi- plicity of purpose, he endeavors to retain the organization and unity of the student body, and to establish proper rapport between faculty and students. 14

Supports Student Activities Having served Roosevelt for two and one-half years in the capacity of Boys Advisor, Mr. Don Blackman bid fare- well to the Roughriders in mid- January to become principal at Woodrow Wil- son Junior High. Assuming Mr. Blackman ' s duties as vice-principal was Mr. John Barrett, former American History teacher at Roosevelt. Mr. Barrett quickly ad- justed to the transition from instructor to administrator. As boys ' advisor, Mr. Barrett sponsors Boys ' Club as well as dealing with disciplinary problems. A familiar person to all Roosevelt students, Mrs. Velma Cross fills the position of girls ' advisor. In addition to coping with disciplinary actions, Mrs. Cross actively sponsors various school activities. Under her careful super- vision, the functions of Girls ' Club are carried out effectively. The senior board, co-ordinated and counseled by Mrs. Cross, works to benefit the entire graduating class.
