Social Science Lends Knowledge of Mankind Kenneth Kephart American Problems Economics Chairman The understandinj? of the modern world is of prime importance in every person ' s life. To provide a basis for this comprehension, every student at Roose- velt takes three years of social science. As a background for understanding con- temporary affairs, sophomores take world history. Juniors concentrate on Ameri- can history The science of economics and the study of American problems — in- ternational, national, and local — are ex- plored in the senior year. So that the students will be familiar with recent dis- coveries and schools of thought, most teachers use many supplementary mate- rials. In this way, Roosevelt students will become better prepared to meet their responsibilities as citizens of our demo- cratic society. Mr. Carlson presents law of supply and demand to a senior economics class.
