To provide a basis for this comprehension, every student at Roose- velt takes three years of social science. As a background for understanding con- temporary affairs, sophomores take world history. Juniors concentrate on Ameri- can history The science of economics and the study of American problems — in- ternational, national, and local — are ex- plored in the senior year. So that the students will be familiar with recent dis- coveries and schools of thought, most teachers use many supplementary mate- rials.
