Iilnglish Courses Clear expression of thouKht in writing and speaking is necessary for success in modern so- ciety. English classes develop this ability through the study of grammar, composition, American literature, and English literature. Stu- dents are given a chance to express their views in themes and class discussions. Journalism, si)eech, and drama classes concentrate on more specific skills in the field of English. All Roosevelt students take two years of English while the college-bound usually elect to continue their background with senior English.
