World history is the requirement for sopho- mores, American history for juniors, and American problems and economics are required for seniors. The purpose of these courses is to bring the student to a better understanding of existing international, national, and local problems. This is achieved by a thorough study of history in the sophomore and junior years, and then a study of present day situations, as they are affected by history, in the senior year. Greater use of supplementary material introduces the student to a variety of thought and interpretation by well-known authorities in the field of historv, outside that of the textbook.
