Under the careful supervision of Dr. John H. Harris, the Des Moines School System is growing a t a tremendous rate. Included within the Des Moines district are over forty thousand students, whose learning experiences are adjusted and ad- ministered by the many officials associ- ated with the superintendent ' s office. There are now over two thousand admin- istrators, teachers, and service personnel under the direction of Dr. Harris. In total numbers of persons involved, build- ings, and expenditures, the school system is Des Moines ' most important business. In terms of the final product, its value can be measured only by the contribu- tions made by the graduates to their com- munity. Dr. John H.
