An annual is made up of a thousand details. No one person is responsible for an annual; hut. rather, it i- th.- combined effort of many people. The Roundup -taft ha- two main divisions the business and editorial staff. Tin business staff i in charge of obtaining MMJ w which to publish the yearbook. Through the sale of tin- annual itself and the subscription of advertisements by loeal business concerns, the business staff raises the nece- sar funds. Being responsible for the body of the annual, the editorial staff MM rarefully plan and edit all picture and ropy material. Layouts, picture-, copy, and the ever-inescapable deadlines are included among the bar- riers this staff must overcome. In an effort to capture the nerve center of Roosevelt High School, the camera Inl- and the typewriter focus on all phase- of student, fac- ulty, and administration activity that take place during the vear. Officers Headed by Dave Strief, the fall Student Council met each Tue«.(ia morning before school to attempt to resolve the many problem- facing the faeiilt) and the -tinlent body. A compli te revision of the Student Coun- cil constitution was made by a special committee under the leadership of Jim l- ' reeland and Parliamentarian Julie John-oii. Major revisions weir made in the Coun- cil ' s election and committee s tem . The new constitu- tion vvas ratified b the students and went into effect at the beginning of the second semester. These were tin words of liiet Justice Art Figg as he called the fall Student I oiirt to order. The court wa organized to rule fvftlj on student offenses and to interpret the constitution. The court is composed of two representatives from each sirade level appointed h the chief justice, w ho i» elected each MBMStfll by the student body. The new polio of the l)es Moines School Hoard concerning student driving placed additional responsibilities upon the court this vear.
