Dr. John H. Harris Superintendent of Schools The responsibility for the admini-ti ation of one of the largest school systems in the coun- 1 1 n falls on the shoulders of Dr. John H. Hani-. superintendent ol the Des Moines I ' ub- lic Schools. With over 2,000 other adminis- trators, teachers, and service personnel he directs the education of more than 10,000 Itwdcntl. In terms of the final prodiu t. its value can be measured only by the cont ributions made l» the graduates to their communty. Delmer H. Battrick Principal This spring Principal Delmer H. Rail lilt completed his ninth year of leadership at Roosevelt. As moderator of the faculty, and co-ordinator of a vast and ever-growing system of extra-curricular activities, he serves as the link between the faculty, -Indents, and the school board. Mr. Battriek ' s own experieme as a teacher has given him the perspective and understanding necessary to a good admin- istrator, and as principal he is constantly working to raise the standards of education at Roosevelt. 14
