STUDENT LIFE • One of the highlights of any year at Roosevelt is the Spinsters ' Spree, when the tables are turned and it ' s the boys who must sit and hope they get a date. High point of this year ' s Spree was, as usual, the entrance of the Man of the Year, in this case, Bob Young. Escorted to the center of the gym by two beautiful attendants, Bob smiled shyly as he was crowned and given a kiss by Girls ' Club President Jane Stephens. Flashbulbs popped as Man of the Year Bob Young began his reign by kissing Jane Stephens.

Joy Stoker gives severe tongue-lashing to Senior B girls in football pep assembly. STUDENT LIFE • The inevitable question about these few pages, we have found, is, Just what is ' Student Life, ' anyway? The truth of the matter is that Student Life is just a broad term for a whole group of things — pep assemblies, school plays, Social Night, even staying after school to get help from a teacher. In short, it consists of all the activities of students here at Roosevelt, the kind of things that we will look back upon years from now and say, That ' s what made going to Roosevelt fun! Some of the things we ' ll remember most are annual affairs, the traditional observances held by every class at TRHS, and this year ' s events were (we modestly admit) better than ever. Last fall the sight of Coach Prior and his female gridders shoved us to new athletic heights, and it will be a long time before we ' ll forget Steve Teddy Roosevelt Myers chasing his horse around the Drake track.

Trumpet virtuoso Raphael Mendez rehearses with the TRHS Concert Band. There are many other special events which fill a year at Roosevelt, however. In the past nine months, for example, TRHS has played host to the world ' s greatest trumpet player, presented two school plays, and countless assemblies, and has held such almost traditional affairs as the Student Council Social Night, the Sharks ' Pageant, and, of course, the Senior Frolics (which are always the best ever ). Senior Frolics rehearsals aren ' t ALL work, as Bruce Nicholl, Jan Warner, and others demonstrate. All-State Student Council President Don Bell helps Beth Muell distribute Social Night tickets in the 7:30 A.M. darkness of a Council meeting. 0
