Delmar H. Battrick His home being: Victoria, British Columbia, Mr. Delmar H. liattrick attended the University of liritish Columbia in Vancouver and tuhen taught ln western Canada for a while. After moving East, he went to the Hartford School of ltelixrious Education in Connecticut, where he received his degree, Mr. Battrick then became director of religious education at thc Church in the Gardens in Long Island, New York. While holding thls posi- tion, he attended Columbia University part-time and received his Master's degree in secondary Education. He came to Des MQIHSS in 15934 and was vice-principal of Roosevelt from 12135 to 15342. ln 1942, he was appointed principal of Callanan Junior High School. a post which he.held until lv95it, when he was again back at Roosevelt: this time as principal, Mr. liattrick is married and has two sons, ages twenty and sixteen. It is Mr. Battrick s administrative skill which enables Roosevelt to run smoothly. Miss Gretta Wolfe Girls' Aflfzfisor Miss Gretta Wolfe has a well-rounded background for the post of Girls' Advisor. She began her higher education at Drake Uni- versity, where she received her ll.A. degree. From Drake, Miss Wolfe went on to Columbia University to receive her M.A. Wish- ing to further her graduate work, she has done special study in progressive education at Colorado Women's College and work at Northwestern as well as attending a summer workshop at Sarah rContinued on page 1123 Gareld Jackson Vice Principal and Boys' Advisor Mr. Gareld Jackson, our vice principal and boys' adviser, has been at Roosevelt since the late fall of 1954 and has served since then in his present capacity. He received his Master's degree from Columbia University. After coming to Des Moines in 1951, he taught for three years at Lincoln High School, then came to Roose- velt. Mr. Jackson is married to a former teacher, they have two children, a six year old boy and a four year old girl. Mr. Jackson's friendly attitude and helpfulness have helped many Roosevelt boys,
