januar graduates class officers Ann Thornburg, Girls Representatlvep Merrlllyn Bird, Secretaryy Bob At the end of their high school days the members of the Janu- ary 1956 class began to think back through the past years and to enioy the many memories associated with them. The basket- ball team went to the State Tournament twice during the class' first three semesters, which was a lot of fun. In its last semester the entire class put on the pep assembly for the East football game. These and many more events were fondly remembered during the last few days at Roosevelt. Several parties were held for the class in the final semester. First came a swimming party held in December: then. a pizza party in Ianuary. Both of these unusual parties afforded loads of fun for all involved. The class sermon was delivered by Dr. Brobst, Presidentg IQIYY Chaffee, Vice President lohn Nadiq, Treasurery Fred Morgan, Boys Representative. Newton Moats. Following the service a tea was given for the seniors and their parents. On Monday the candidates for gradu- ation met in Younkers' Tea Room for the traditional banquet. Afterwards the class members were given tickets to a movie. Wednesday brought Class Day. With Thursday came Commence- ment and the last gathering of the class as a whole. Dr. Virgil Loqamarcino. Assistant Professor of Education at Iowa State Col- lege, was the speaker. After the commencement exercises the parents of the seniors held a party for them to celebrate their graduation. Although the final few weeks where a time of re- membering the past and wondering about the future. the January graduates knew they would never forget their three years at Roosevelt.
