But no one book is cherished by everyone so much as is the High School Yearbook. For over a quarter century the Banner has depicted life at Kulpmont High School. Containing pictures of classmates and teachers, it has been a reminder of care-free school days. Its pages bring to life dances and parties, sports and classes, as well as programs, plays and other activities. These memories make this, the twenty-sixth, issue of the Banner, a lasting souvenir. In his passing, our school has ,lost an outstanding director, and our town, a loyal citizen. . Tobey belatedly remembered that for months she's had a date to go to a big college dance. She can't just call it off at the last moment! Brose will cer- tainly understand that .... especially since he has to be out of town that week-end! But Brose doesn't understand at all! He thinks going steady means no other dates! Tobey's mother is called out of town and Tobey is left to run the house. She has a lot to deal with Dad and Brose, who unite in pushing a so-called labor saving schedule which drives Tobey half crazy. She's used to mother's easy going system of housekeeping that gets the work done without running everyone ragged! To cap matters, Tobey is to star in the school play and that means special rehearsals with the hero, Kip, of Whom Brose is rather jealous. All this is nearly too much for Tobey--especially when she and Kip are staging an important re- hearsal before a visiting talent scout and the kids slink in, rigged out with blankets as a comedy horse, and manage to turn the rehearsal into a broad farce! y It's a warm and satisfying comedy with particular appeal to youth, for it is filled with sensitivity and understanding of their heartaches and joys.
