Senior Class Play lT'S A DATE What a break it was for sixteen-year-old Linda Rogers when Diana Gordon and Austin Farrel broke up. Austin, the most popular boy in school, came rebounding to Linda when he asked Linda's older sister, Valerie, to get him a date. Linda was excited as she put on her new party dress and fixed her hair for the big evening. It was a date every girl would want. Girls do not throw very far, and when Diana threw over Austin . . . well . . . when Diana heard about Linda's date with Austin, she went right after him again. She said it was all a mistake, for she had not broken her date with Austin. There was Linda, deserted at the door, standing there in her party dress. Was Linda downhearted? Certainly she was. 'Did she cry? A little. Into Linda's life came Hal Montgomery, a forgotten football hero, to take over her baby sitting for the evening. lf Hal was a baby sitter, did it make a difference how old the baby was or where he sat? No. He would sit with Linda at the school dance. Determined, Linda sets out to get Austin away from Diana. Since Hal sighs for Diana, he is teaching boy's heart, and she in turn is teaching Hal to woo a maid. Linda runs president, and organizes her friends into the I Sigh for Hal Club. Linda, the obiects of their affections, or almost do. But love is rough for Linda before the end, there is a howling climax when Hal and Austin have a fight over the girls.
