-I Y Yrvvr USS Roosevelt DDG 80 Commander Stanley O. Keeve, is a native of the Washington, DC area. He graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. His initial sea assignment was aboard USS REUBEN JAMES CFFG-579, .homeported lirst in Long Beach, CA and later in Pearl Harbor, HI. There he completed two Western Pacific deployments while serving as Damage Control5Assistant, Anti- Submarine Warfare Officer, and Ordnance Officer. Later, he attended Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Aboard the AEGIS cruiser, USS PHILIPPINE SEA CCG-587 homeported in Mayport, Florida, he served as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer. There he completed a Mediterranean deployment that included Tomahawk strike operations against the Former Republic of Yugoslavia fNATO's Operation ALLIED FORCEI. He later served as Flag Aidefl.T to the Commander U. S. SIXTH FLEET in Gaeta, Italy and NATO's Commander Striking Forces Southern Europe in Naples, Italy. His most recent operational assignment was as Commanding Officer of the mine countermeasure ship USS GUARDIAN fMCM 57 forward deployed in Sasebo Japan Completing two Southeast Asian deployments that included multiple stops In Korea the Philippines Thailand Singapore Malaysia and Japan he helped lead GUARDIAN to the 2004 Battle E Award.
