This year's team won only two games all season, but I am sure they will long be remembered for their courage and fighting spirit. One game the Eagles were very proud of was when they defeated their old rival, Belleville, Z0-O. The Reserves had a better season than the varsity. They won four out of six games which is a good season average. Fight, team, fight! has been ringing in our ears since December 9 when we played Albion. Albion won by a 49-26 score. Then we came back to win against Bedford 55-28. We then defeated Wayne 25-15, in one of the most unusual games of the year. December 23, we dropped in on River Rouge and were handed a loss of 52-43. In our next game, we played Monroe C.C. We won 63-38 with Sid Daw- son's tally of 23 points which was the highest individual score of the year. Then we entertained Wayne at home, and gave them a trimming 41-32. The next game we played some of the best ball of the season. We defeated Melvindale, one of the better Class B teams, 51-45. Next came the first game with Detroit Catholic Central in which we were defeated in an overtime 46-41. We met our traditional rival, Belleville, and handed them a 46-38 loss. The following week, Garden City turned the tables 40-32. Rouge beat us for a second time by a score of 54- 32. Detroit Catholic Central also made it two in a row. When we met Ecorse, we were on the long end of a 46-38 score. However, the Belleville Tigers, in our last season game, took us 46-33. Following our last game, Romulus immediately started to practice for the District Tournament. Our practice paid off the first night by giving us a score of 41-32 over Milan. Belleville won over M.C.C., and that made them eligible to play Romulus for the championship. Our boys' fighting spirit and courage put us a jump over Belleville for a 55-50 win and the District Championship. Our high point man for the year was co-captain Eugene Kratt with a total of 157 points, not including the tournament. Duck McMann was second with 153 for the season. 48 RESERVE BASKETBALL P,-Jfhm SEATED, LEFT-T0 RIGHT: Larry Mainkg Tom Stillwageng Mitch Zeronag Don Kellar John Johnson Stuart Gross: 2nd Row: Mr. Pasternakg Roland Beanumg Ron Masong Tom Davis B111 Prout Mgr 3rd Row Bill Siebertg Fred Zakolskig Judson Durham: Jerry Prillg Sam Lewisg Bob Richardson Our Reserves fought valiantly for their Alma Mater this season but to no avail.
