Dramatic Club To Present Six Short Plays in December On Friday night, December 5, the Dramatic Club will present a series of six short plays at the Girls' High auditorium. This date, however, ls subject to change. Both new and old members of the club will have parts in these plays. In the first of the series, Polly Put the some on, Virginia Lyris will play the part of Polly Lincoln Wash- ington, colored. The part of Julls Martin will be taken by Diana Strick- land. Mable Rhinehart will be Mrs. alson, and Frances Willingham will act as Mrs. Vail. Doris Andrews and Betty Balkcnm will represent Kay and Marion Jason, respectively, and Clara Tomasetti will be Sylvia Vail. The second part of the program is a group of short plays representing different types of comedies. Mar- garet Bradfoxd will represent the Maiden, Gayle Hine will he Love in At the Sign of the Cleft Heart, a short whimsical comedy. The second short comedy, a clever narrative be- tween Jusnita McKinney as She , and Jack Sprayberry' as He, ls en- titled On the Way Home. Rome High Defeats Centre 26-14 As THE ROMAN went to press, the l-lilltoppers of Rome High School racked up their seventh victory of the 1941 season by pushing back a fighting team from Centre. Ala.. in the last quarter to win ss-14. The Romans tallied twice in the first half to make the score I2-0. ln the second half, however, Cen- tre came back with a fighting spirit which the Hilltoppers could not stop until the visitors were leading 14-12. But the Blue and Gold came to life in the last quarter and scored twice on a 50- yard pass and s 65-yard quick kick runbaek. Scoring touchdowns for Rome High were Cook, Rucker Ui, and Akins.
